We are delighted to announce that Team Freedom is back for 2022, and we’re aiming to surpass $1 million in total raised! We’re calling on our supporters to help us change lives and end human trafficking by becoming a part of Team Freedom, which is a collaboration between Hope for Justice and Christian radio station The JOY FM.
Team Freedom members will take part in the annual Publix Gasparilla Distance Classic, which will be held in Tampa, Florida on February 26 and 27, 2022.
Next year will also see Team Freedom’s first virtual event taking place, so wherever you are, you can be a part of our movement to end human trafficking. With a range of distances to choose from, and a walking event available too, there is something for everyone.
On Saturday, February 26, runners can take part in 5k and 15k routes, and there will also be a 5k walk. These will be followed by a run of 8k, plus a half marathon (21k), on Sunday, February 27. Those wishing to participate in the virtual run can run anywhere, anytime, for any distance.
Drü Collie, Interim US Partnerships Director at Hope for Justice, said: “We are looking forward to making Team Freedom 2022 the biggest and most successful so far! We can’t wait to come together with The JOY FM listeners, and our supporters, and run side by side to bring freedom and hope to those trapped in exploitation. Why not register now and give yourself plenty of time to train? Or you can take part by walking too! Join Team Freedom 2022, and help us reach our glorious goal; to build a world without human trafficking.”
Team Freedom was established ten years ago, by Hope for Justice co-founder and top recording artist Natalie Grant, and The JOY FM radio presenter Carmen Brown.
How to take part:
Participants first need to register with the Publix Gasparilla Distance Classic, and then with Team Freedom. People are asked to commit to raising at least $400 for Hope for Justice by January 31, 2022; all funds raised will help us rescue victims, help them restore their lives, and help us bring about the change we need in order to end human trafficking.
For the virtual event, you just need to register to become a Team Freedom member, here.
